Every stored and pending code, plus the freeze-frame data that shows what the engine was doing when it set.

Test, don't guess
The sensor, wiring, vacuum line or component the code points at gets tested. A lean code can be a cracked hose, not an oxygen sensor.

You get the finding in plain language: what failed, why, and what happens if you wait.

Quote and repair
A price for that repair before we start. If the fix is a loose gas cap, you hear that too.
About the diagnostic fee
Diagnosis takes time and equipment, so there is a fee for it. Ask when you call whether it is applied to the repair; the site does not publish the amount.

Questions we get at the counter
Why do mechanics charge a diagnostic fee?
Because reading a code is not a diagnosis. The fee covers the testing that separates a bad sensor from a bad wire or a vacuum leak, so you pay for the right repair once instead of the wrong part twice.
Can I keep driving with the check engine light on?
If the light is steady and the car drives normally, drive it to the shop or call first. If the light is flashing, the engine is misfiring badly enough to damage the catalytic converter: stop and call.
The parts store read my code for free. Why come in?
The code tells you which circuit complained, not what failed. We test the circuit, which is why the repair we quote is the one the car needs.
Do you diagnose electrical problems?
Yes: windows, lights, gauges, batteries that keep dying, and warning lights beyond the check-engine light.
Will the light come back?
Not if the cause is fixed. After the repair we clear the codes and check that the monitors run clean.
